The WAOR Education Foundation Scholarship recognizes and rewards students who pursue education beyond high school. Funded by the Waco Association of REALTORS Educational Foundation, this scholarship supports deserving applicants based on scholastic achievement, school involvement, and volunteer service. WACO BOARD OF REALTORS® EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INFORMATION
PURPOSE:
To recognize and reward the efforts of those who seek to pursue education at the post-high school level. The selection is based on documented results of the applicant’s scholastic performance and school/volunteer activities. This document defines the process for selecting the students who will be awarded scholarships.
ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS:
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior at the end of the current spring semester OR a current full-time college student OR currently enrolled in a vocational program.
- Applicant must be planning to attend or have been accepted to any public or private post-secondary institution, including vocational programs.
- Applicant must be an immediate relative of a Primary REALTOR® member of the Waco Association of REALTORS®. (Immediate relative is defined as child, step-child, grandchild, spouse, or legal guardian.)
SELECTION CRITERIA:
The selection is made by the Waco Board of REALTORS® Educational Foundation. The number and value of available scholarships will vary from year to year based on the Foundation’s level of funding. The applicants will be graded with 100 possible points and awarded scholarships based on the following criteria: GPA, Community Service, Letters of Reference, Awards, Experience, Other organizations and job experience, and Essay.
DOCUMENTATION:
The following documents must be completed and submitted to the Waco Board of REALTORS® Educational Foundation no later than March 31st, 2024.
- Completion of the Scholarship Candidate Application (if handwritten, please print legibly). Incomplete applications will not be considered. All questions that do not apply must be marked N/A. Application must be returned to the Waco Board of REALTORS® Educational Foundation by March 31st, 2024.
- Completion of the Scholarship Information Sheet (if handwritten, please print legibly). Incomplete forms will not be considered. All questions that do not apply must be marked N/A. Community Service/Volunteer Work REQUIRES verification from a supervisor.
- Copy of official transcript for GPA verification.
- Letter of recommendation from one (1) teacher/educator and one (1) personal reference (non-family/non-educator).
- Essay by the student. Answer one (1) of the questions provided in the application. The essay shall be 250-500 words. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A MANDATORY PART OF THE APPLICATION.
NO late applications or incomplete applications will be accepted. Applications should be turned in to the Waco Board of REALTORS® Educational Foundation no later than March 31st, 2024.
The submission of the completed documents listed above is the sole responsibility of the applicant and his/her parent, guardian, or responsible adult of record.
